Canon 40X

The Canon HJ40x14B IASD-V is a portable EFP telephoto lens designed for documentary, natural history, and wildlife shooters that need to capture sharp, crisp images from a great distance. Its superb built-in image stabilization also makes it ideal for aerial, concert, and sporting events that require both longer zoom ranges and portability. Shuttle Shot, an enhanced servo system, lets the operator zoom back and forth between two positions for either checking focus or precise zooming, while the design incorporates a dual lens approach to broaden the shooting options, achievement of an adequate sensitivity, maximization of image contrast, and preservation of the highest MTF over the long focal ranges. The HJ40x10B and the companion highly telephoto HJ40x14B represent the pinnacle of Canon portable high definition EFP lens design.

These lenses are intended for producers and broadcasters engaged in documentary, natural history, and the many other challenging location productions that seek superb image capture over very considerable distances. These lenses embody superb built-in image stabilization systems that have become industry renowned. Aerial shooting, sports and entertainment coverage, portable acquisition in arduous terrain and under dynamic environmental situations (heavy winds) – are all superbly supported by these stalwart HD lenses.

ABOUT THIS LENS
The HJ40x10B and the companion HJ40x14B are a high definition EFP lens family that brings entirely new shooting flexibilities to field production. The HJ40x10B can extend to 770mm with the extender while the HJ40x14B can achieve an unprecedented 1120mm. Both lenses represent the very best in optical and mechanical design and their unique optical image stabilization systems make possible the capture of rock steady high definition imagery under the most adverse of field conditions.

They represent an excellent marriage of needs for creative flexibility and mobility in a handheld HDTV camera system with the demanding performance requirements for high-end HDTV image acquisition at long focal lengths. The design optimization strategies included a dual lens approach to broaden the shooting options, achievement of an adequate sensitivity, maximization of image contrast, and preservation of the highest MTF over the long focal ranges.

High contrast is ensured by superb control of black reproduction – with optical and mechanical design innovations that substantially reduced flare, veiling glare, and any internal reflections. Similar attention to minimization of ghost images and other highlight-related chromatic distortions caused by strong light sources on-axis and off-axis further extend the operational contrast range of the lens.

Canon J11

Canon’s HJ11ex4.7B has been the most popular HDTV wide-angle lens in the world and is known for its outstanding optical performance and ease of operation. Now, Canon is introducing unique technology with the launch of our most advanced HDTV wide-angle lens, the HJ14ex4.3B. In addition to the lens’s™ new design, the HJ14ex4.3B realised the widest angle among all the broadcast lenses while maintaining or even improving its exceptional optical performance. Moreover, the newly developed drive-unit will provide further more ease of operation which will strongly support the camera operator.

Widest lens in the TV industry:
HJ14ex4.3 features the widest angle in the industry by the focal length of 4.3mm and the angular field of view of 96.3°(2/3, 16:9) at wide end. Not only the lens provides a wide angle picture, it also features a 14x zoom ratio reaching to 60mm(120mm with extender), which greatly expands the video expression.

Improved optical performance:
Although the HJ14x features a wide angle and a high zoom ratio, by using the latest 3D design technology and large aspherical elements which creates an unique optical layout, the lens maintains high resolution from the center to each corner of the picture which even exceeds its predecessor’s performance. Moreover, by adopting a new coating technology and the new simulation system, eminent is how much the focus breathing has been diminished and how much the light quantity of the picture corners has been maintained. The HJ14ex also features an ultimately minimized color aberration, ghosting and picture distortion, regardless to the enormous improvement of its specifications.

Improve the operability and lighten the physical fatigue of cameraman:
Besides the exceptional optical performance, another remarkable character of this new lens is its newly designed drive unit. With the goal of pursuing ease of operation, Canon has reached a new design based on human ergonomics, refined by a long term research and testing.

CANON HJ14ex43B

The HJ14ex4.3B is the new successor to the long-acclaimed wide angle HJ11ex4.7B portable HDTV production lens offered by Canon. The enthusiastic acceptance of the latter all over the world since its introduction in 2001 encouraged Canon to pursue a further expansion of creative capabilities with a new-generation lens that facilitated an even wider angle of view, while also extending the focal range. Imaging performance has been significantly advanced by mobilizing the most contemporary of optical glasses, optical coating materials and processes, and powerful new optical design tools. Customer feedback also spurred a total redesign of the digital drive unit that further optimized both the ergonomic aspects and the performance of the digital electronic control of zoom, iris, and focus.

The short 4.3mm focal length translates to a 96.3 degree horizontal angle of view for the 16:9 HD image format. Combined with a focal range that has been extended to now cover a range from 4.3mm to 60mm (and 120mm with extender) this lens offers unsurpassed operational capabilities in a compact package weighing less than 4.5lbs. Additionally, focus breathing has been significantly reduced over the predecessor lens.

The HJ14ex4.3B is a design directly responding to the ever-increasing creative aspirations of broadcasters and HD producers for a truly versatile HD acquisition system.
